Student Ambassadors Celebrate Educators

Each year, the Edmond Public Schools district and the Edmond Public Schools Foundation honors those who do the day-to-day work in our schools, caring for our children and ensuring academic excellence. For over 20 years, they have honored teachers, including Teacher of the Year. This is an exciting event where the teacher is surprised in front of their peers and administrators. This past year, we also added support staff to the celebration, recognizing the first Support Personnel of the Year in our district!  Get ready this year as we also add to the celebration, Rookie Teacher of the Year!  Finalists and winners all receive a cash award.

When describing the idea for the Student Ambassadors to host this event, Reagan Giordanno, EPSF Student Ambassador Officer said, “It makes total sense for the students to thank the teachers and support staff.   We are excited to have the vehicle as Student Ambassadors to do that, but we want all students to get involved.  This isn’t just about us, this is about their education too.”

In addition to their goal of raising $10,000 to go towards cash awards to teachers and support staff, the committee and Student Ambassadors will be making 33 goodie bags for the finalists.  Items such as gift cards, classroom supplies, hand sanitizer, and other items are needed for the 33 goody bags.
