COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION COORDINATOR

SUMMARY

The Edmond Public Schools Foundation (EPSF)  is looking for a dedicated, creative, take-charge  professional to execute successful events and build public awareness of the organization in the community. Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Community Mobilization Coordinator is a community facing position with significant opportunities to assume responsibilities across a wide range of fundraising, relationship building, marketing, social media and communications activities. The Community Mobilization Coordinator will bring a growth mindset in fostering our culture of collaboration and expressing the core values created by our board of directors.  

The Community Mobilization Coordinator is responsible for organizing and executing outreach efforts at the directions of the CEO, which includes participating in solving logistical issues, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, developing and managing social media and marketing plan activities and assisting with other events.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Corresponding via telephone and email, chat, Google meet and zoom
  • Pick up/deliveries as necessary.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create a plan and timeline to monitor the website on a regular basis and perform updates as needed.
  • Manage social media posts, stories, reels, etc.  by creating content, editing, and scheduling with CEO approval.
  • Engage on the social media platforms when appropriate
  • Create  internal and external monthly newsletter content and edit for CEO approval
  • Edit and proofread internal documents
  • Update online platforms that contain EPS Foundation information and statistics – GuideStar, Charity Navigator, Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, etc.
  • Gather photos/videos of community events and other content  for donor thank you’s, social media and other documents.

EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Set up/tear down, attend, supervise volunteers and create social media content for community events such as:  Heard on Hurd, Community Fairs, new teacher reception, and other community facing events
  • Assist with coordination of fundraising and signature  events:  Hall of Fame, Putt FORE Public Education, #ONEEDMOND, Celebration of Excellence
  • Assist with coordination of fundraising event information in Neon database
  • Assist with preparation of event materials
  • Assist before, during, and after on the day-of Foundation events
  • Add all events to the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits event calendar and other community calendars
  • Other event and campaign-related duties as assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
  • Social media and website management experience
  • Database management experience, preferably CRM experience
  • High level of computer literacy with proficiency in the latest versions of the Google platform 
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners and donors
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Forward thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Creative problem-solver with ability to think through scenarios critically to come to a decision
  • Possess a growth mindset and belief in continuous improvement
  • Proficiency with Google Suite of products and diverse technology platforms
  • Experience using various social media platforms and communications/marketing tools
  • Experience with Canva
  • Experience with HootSuite
  • Commitment to the nonprofit profession
  • Commitment to public education

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or working towards a bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Communications experience in a nonprofit organization preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Use of a car required: legally registered and insured for daily use
  • Use of a computer/monitor, telephone and copier daily
  • Physical Requirements: Lifting/Carrying: Heavy work: may include routine lifting of a maximum weight of 50 lbs. Pulling/Pushing: combination of sitting, standing, walking and driving on a frequent basis
  • Flexible schedule with willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends where required
  • Team environment with group meeting participation

Employment Status: Non-exempt,  part-time temporary position
Compensation: $20 per hour
Benefits:  Some flexibility in schedule
Timeline: Position will remain open until filled.  A mutually agreed upon start date will be determined at the time of hire.
